Setting up web infrastructure on Amazon Web Services

I have a niche social network that needs to be moved over to AWS. I did this years ago (2007), but am not up to speed on how to do this correctly on AWS these days. I'd like some advice/instruction on current best practices to accomplish this on AWS. My infrastructure needs:

- MySQL server
- Image uploading by users
- CDN for serving images and files
- HHVM server (Hack).
- Load balancing
- DNS (I heard they do this now)

The more detailed the better, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
