"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think the easiest thing to try would be to change the sort to First Name, Last Name.  Now exit from Outlook, close down all applications, restart the computer and launch Outlook. Now sort Last Name, First Name.

Does this work.

If not, you might try to run a PST Repair. Find SCANPST.EXE in the Outlook or Office Program folder, close Outlook and make a backup of the PST file. Now run SCANPST against the PST file.

Contacts can have more than one group and I do assume you are talking about only ONE group with sorting issues.
