How to bring server back up after apply Critical Patch Update (received error)?

I applied patches to our server (Solaris 10 SPARC), did a reboot, reset auto-boot back to true at ok prompt and received error at ok prompt:

/kernel/fs/sparcv9/devfs: undefined symbol 'i_ddi_devi_quiescing
WARNING: mod_load: cannot load module 'devfs'
(Cant load devfs) Program terminated

How do I fix this?

No, any Solaris 10 version CD is fine.

1) Boot into single-user from the CD-ROM

ok> boot cdrom -s

2) Run "fsck" on your root partiton on the harddrive

# fsck -y /dev/rdsk/cxtxdxsx

3) Reboot

Also if i boot from cdrom -s using a solaris 10 cd that's a later version than the OS on the system will that cause an issue or should i use the CD for the OS version that's on the system?  Please advise.  Thanks.

Just a followup: We ended up doing a fresh install reloading the existing slices due to system failing when trying to do an upgrade from u08 to u11.  Thanks for your help.  I have another question but i will make it a separate question so it can be searchable.
