I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There's plenty of information to be found using a good Google Search term, that being said, it will also come down to how you sell it to the business department, most of the time the people that pay the bill only care about how much it will cost.

It is your task to make business realize that it will cost them more if they don't implement network redundancy, you can do this by showing them what will happen when disaster strikes. Show them the single point of failures and how long it will take to get back up and running. That will make them calculate costs rather quickly, if business can't work they loose money.

That being said, here are some resources that might give some ideas of how to approach your justification:

Since it can take several days to acquire a spare part, the cost of adding redundancy to the network is likely going to be far less than the cost of the business not being able to operate for a prolonged period.  Also, IT equipment purchases may be considered a capital expense, which companies may be able to claim on their corporate taxes as a asset depreciation or deduction.  (But that's for the accountants to figure out, not the IT guys)

You may want to search www.gartner.com if you are looking for statistics.  They do a lot of research on topics like this.

Sorry, but I still don't know which types of products you are trying to find pricing on.  Are you looking for just pricing on routers or are you looking at software, cloud DR, etc.?
