Enterprise Vault 11 OWA Outlook Web App

I deployed Exchange 2013 and Enterprise Vault 11.  I enabled the Enterprise Vault 11 OWA App.

Does the Enterprise Vault 11 Server needs to be reachable directly via the internet?  We are concerned about security as we don't want to make the EV Server reachable for anybody.

Is there a way on how to configure Enterprise Vault 11 with Outlook Web Access (Exchange 2013) so the users can access their mail archives without facing the EV Server to the Internet?

Currently we configured a split-brain DNS where the EV Server is listening to ev.company.com from the internal and external net.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you need to reach it from the internet then the server needs to be reachable from the internet. You could however put an application firewall or reverse proxy between them if that makes you feel better.

Yes if you need to make this available externally you will have to configure Enterprise vault and expose it on the internet via a reverse proxy, here is an article that can give you better understanding on what needs to happen.

Thanks Satyendra.  The OWA Users need to access their archived mails using the Outlook Web App provided by Symantec.  Therefore I need to expose EV to the Internet :-/
