browser setting : how to open link on new tab using simple a click

i know this can be can be achieved by using - CTRL+ Click on link.

I want this to be as default property of the browser.

please let me know how this can be achieved if it is possible.

I asked because as far as making it a default option, it differs by browser. Specifically for Internet Explorer, go to Control Panel / Network and Internet / Internet Properties / Tabs / Open links from other programs in: (select the button labelled "A new window")

Also, if you are using a mouse, click on the link with the mouse wheel
