Making an additional branch in a Visio diagram

Please have a look at the attached diagrams. You can see a branch 1 and a branch 2 in the flow diagram. I want to essentially copy branch 2 and have a branch 3 which would go to the right of branch 2 and I want to slide branch 2 to the middle. But when I try to do this everything goes haywire.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What you're describing should be reasonably straightforward. I just recreated your diagram and followed exactly your steps without any problem.

One primary question:
Are you using dynamic connectors not lines, i.e., did you create the lines with the Connector Tool, rather then drawing horizontal and vertical straight lines? The dynamic connector is called that because it is dynamic -- it reacts to the location of the shapes on each end. Granted, connectors don't always do what you have in mind, but this is certainly a case where they do.

Thanks - I'll look into those connector types. This diagram comes from a vendor and I'm trying to generate a modification to their design. (The piece I show on here is just part of a larger multi page set of flow diagrams.) I was getting bogged down in the weeds about ready to give up and just draw it by hand. Hopefully this will give me the light out of the woods.
