chose folder for save location

from my web page, I need to chose a location to save a file to that I'm creating. I've looked at the fileupload control but this doesn't cover what I need as I need a folder location. After some research, I'm not sure this is possible due to browser security restrictions. Is this true, and if so, does anyone have a good alternative other than have the users type in the destination address?

Thanks in advance for the help,

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It looks like it is a security issue and would require the user to browse to a folder.

public void BtnDownload_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    Response.ContentType = "text/plain";
    Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=foo.txt");
    Response.Write("some text contents that will be sent to the user");

you have no control at the server end where the client (browser) saves the file.
