lync 2013
hello,
is there a way to prevent Lync from launching when you click the hyperlink to join a meeting. here is a screen shot
when I click "Join Lync Meeting" Lync will start even if I have it closed. I don't want this to happen sometimes, because every now and then I want to use the Lync Web App. I noticed that if I have a computer in which I have never run Lync, and click the "Join Lync Meeting" link the Lync web app will run, however, once I run Lync for the first time, it will launch every time after that. Even though sometimes I want to use the web app.
Any ideas?

hey!, I accepted this too quick, guess what I found from TechNet? to quote
"To force connecting to a Lync meeting using the Lync Web App instead of the Lync thick client, do the following:
1.Open a web browser window
2.Copy & paste the URL for joining the meeting that you received. But do NOT press ENTER yet!
3.Append the following string to the URL: "?SL=1" (without the double quotes)
For example, if the URL to join the Lync meeting given is:
https://meet.contoso.com/john.smith/ZR2RJ141
Change it to:
https://meet.contoso.com/john.smith/ZR2RJ141?SL=1"
I just tried this and it works!
to answer your question. I wanted to do this because the client was having problems, and the meeting was starting, so I wanted an alternative. For instance, if the client has problems, and the web app works. In the scenario where the meeting is about to start, I could just use the web app, and fix the client later.
