Joomla menu links type

Hello,
I just start using Joomla
I installed the latest version 3.4.1 (french version), after installing WAMP (Apache, PHP and mySQL)
I spent time reading a user's guide and found that there is something missing in my joomla.
Selecting a type of link for a menu, the list just show "Miscellaneous links" (french : liens divers) and under that, only 4 items. Nothing else !
So I can't configure any menu correctly ...
Help !

Do you mean Menu type? or something else?
Joomla is notorious for missing files when you FTP them to a site due to the large number.
the first step I would take is re-upload all the Joomla system file again (not the setup/installation folder)
then see if that corrects the menu options

However, you may be talking about something else. when adding menus you can choose the menu type.

for a menu to appear on a page you need to define a menu with menu items (under the menu manager) . these menu items can be different types such as article such as a single article, a category blog.
once you have the menu defined you then have to go to the module manager (under extensions) and define a menu module and choose the menu you defined and also set the position of the menu in the templates (usually position-1) also set what pages the menu will appear on (under menu assignment tab) again usually all pages

I am speaking about "type de lien de menu" : link's menu type
I found an alternative, use the site of a friend and cleaning it then buidling my site
But I have another small problem

To tell you what was wrong : when opening the main menu in the menu manager, selecting Home (in the list of "sub-menu ?), you have "type of menu link" ( I translate from french) and a button on the right" like this = Selection
Clicking on that one, the popup did show only Miscellaneous link
No idea why
So my friend who did not have that problem sent me his site and I started from there

I think you are trying to create a menu linked to an article using the selection button.

Indeed, that"'s the purpose, but there is not 35 link types displayed !
And of course not the link a articles
Only "miscellaneous links"
I found a work around by copying the site of a friend !
