Cannot install second instance of SQL 2008 R2 Express

Hi experts,

I am having an issue with SQL 2008 R2 express. I have a need to create a second instance (one is already running and in use) when I try create it I run through the setup wizard. I have setup a windows active directory account to be used with this database and I set it to windows authentication. Everything seems to go well but then I get an error saying:
"The following error has occurred: the specified account already exists"  only option is to click OK then everything fails. I have tried with the default network / system account and get the same error. I have also tried with other Windows accounts and get the same error. I have rebooted the server to no avail. Everything else is working perfectly on this server. It is a fairly new fresh install. Its only job is to be a SQL server for a document management system. This is all working well but now we are looking to add a workflow which I would like setup on its own SQL server instance. The document management software is Laserfiche. I will add screenshot of error. Does anyone know which account "already exists" or how to resolve this?

Second instance means a second name current one is servername\sqlexpress new instance needs to be servername\anyothernamethansqlexpress.

You should check with the software vendor whether it is wise to have databases for the same application hosted on separate sql instances.  I.e. certain tasks might not work when trying to cross sql instances. i.e. documents/references are on servername\documents while the workflow that presumably might reference those documents on a completely separate sql servername\newinstance.

To resolve your issue, it is not a username with which ms sql runs, but the name of the instance you give it.  During the setup/install there is a prompt where you need to use a new instance name.

I indeed did not need a separate instance, rather just another database under same instance. Thanks!
