How to reset/clear the attributes of a HTML button

I need to style my HTML buttons. I remember there was a way to wipe out all its current attributes like its bevel, color, etc. so I can start from a clean slate. I remember it was so simple, but I just can't remember the word. No luck googling it because I apparently have totally forgotten it that I'm keying in the wrong search terms. All I remember now is that there is such a thing.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Actually, I figured it out, it's the "appearance" attribute. But I give you the points anyway as credit for responding. Thanks.
