recommended LAN messenger
what are some recommended LAN messenger that will have regular updates? The link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_LAN_messengers shows some comparison but most of them does not come with regular updates.

true in that not much regular updates required if it works well. but it will be nice if there are new features once in a long while

most of them are quite static unless you want to pay (like Office Communicator/Lync)
we can even try to find a gartner-version of this to say which one on the leader board...
