For that size of business, Kaspersky, Symantec Endpoint and Bit Defender rise to top application suites. We use Symantec Endpoint for our clients. There is no substitute for common sense, however .

Of all the antivirus software that I have dealt with, I have found Vipre Enterprise to be the easiest to configure and deploy.  Others (Symantec, McAfee, Sophos, etc.) have made improvements to their configuration and deployment models in recent years, but I still feel that Vipre's model is superior.

Hi,
I would rather go for a kaspersky if I were you.
Eventually you could try a free one as avira or 360 internet security (maybe too young)..
From my own experience I never found Symantec nor Sophos to be efficient and not ressources consuming.

Protect Your Employees from Wi-Fi Threats

As Wi-Fi growth and popularity continues to climb, not everyone understands the risks that come with connecting to public Wi-Fi or even offering Wi-Fi to employees, visitors and guests. Download the resource kit to make sure your safe wherever business takes you!

There's also ESET - very configurable, has a central management suite that's easy to use and deploy packages. I tend to stay away from Symantec personally as it can be a resource hog on some systems (though admittedly haven't tried any new versions so could be better now).

Vipre is very good at picking up threats, we once had to use it to remove a virus that no other anti-virus could pick up/get rid of (including Sophos, Symantec, Kaspersky).

Your question is a bit like asking for the best flavor of ice cream... everyone has an opinion and none are really right... or wrong.

I agree with the VIPRE recommendation It has proven to be very effective, easily deployed, and well supported in the 5-7 years I've been using it with my clients.

After years and years of ineffective, poor quality coding (in my opinion), the MOST RECENT symantec product APPEARS stable - that doesn't mean I'd recommend it to anyone though... any time soon...

I've also tried several other products (not many that recently) and not been impressed by any.

I guess my  direct question is.

1)  Sophos cost effective compared to other companies
2)  Will Sophos let me down ( based on letting others down in the past)
3)  Does anybody see a reason I would be "Burned as a witch" for Selecting Sophos.

A senior person in our company suggested Sophos .  Is Sophos competitive across the board ?

As noted, lots of opinions on this. Sophos is OK if you have experience with it.
