Dell Compellent MPIO issue - Partially Connected

Hi..

I just setup a Dell Compellent SC4020 for my customer. after zoning done, I created servers object. after the object created, the connectivity status show partially connected. this happened to VMWARE 5.5 server object and Server 2012 R2 as well.

I have checked all zoning, it has a zone of all physical WWN, 1 zone with all Virtual WWN and zone with server HBA with all Virtual WWN.

the implication is when I restart 1 of the controller, some volumes will lost connection t server. i'm using OS native MPIO.

thanks

As I understand it Dell will only support the configuration if their MPIO setup is used. I suggest starting there.

I have checked. host MPIO does working. when I power off 1 of the FC switch, the vortuall WWN is able failed over to other ports.

only when I do storage failover, some volume will disconnected. and at server object --> connectivity tab, there is no full connection show. I should able 4 port connection to target instead 4.
