Hardware needed for HD PVR

Hi, I I currently have a model Directv D11, so no HD. I am getting a DirecTV PVR with HD within a week or so.

My question is, can I use the old satellite dish, or do I need a new one like this:

Also, will I need any other hardware? Thanks. I am not satellite-savvy, so please speak in words I can understand. :)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Your old satellite dish should work fine if cleaned of dust and debris, but also consider that a new dish will work better given that it  uses newer parts that provide better connectivity.
Consider the cost vs the performance of replacing the dish...
A new dish cost is smal but the replacement service may be considerable?
