Calling via Cell Phone from the Bahamas
International roaming problem ... when employees travel to the Bahamas they try to call my Exchange IVR with their cell phones or call individual Cisco 7945G desk phones on Cisco UCM. The DTMF fails on the IVR, calls drop - just general suckage. These are iPhones 5s with AT&T roaming in the Bahamas. DTMF and call quality all seems to work fine about everywhere else in the world. What might be some options?
-One idea: I could have a number in Canada which then forwards to my phone system and IVR. Perhaps the full path would be different enough that the DTMF and overall quality would improve.
-I could have employees first dial a 1800 and enter a calling card PIN and this would perhaps dump them onto an overall alternate path.
Perhaps they could use some kind of IP telephony that would ride the roaming data instead of roaming voice? Is Skype an option on the iPhone?
Any other ideas??
