remove entries from ssms server name

I am using 2K8 if that matters.
when you open ssms and click Connect > Database Engine you are presented with a dialog that may have a list of entries under Server Name.
I want to be able to remove entries from this list.
If that is not possible then can I clear the list?

Thanks

no - that doesn't ...
I did find that solution when Googling and one would hope that something like this that is similar to other software would work - but it doesn't.
In some of these same articles / forums one sees that many responders say it doesn't work for them either.

Thanks

Which version of SSMS do you have? Should work at least for SQL Server 2012 and 2014.

Tapan - yes that works - thanks
Is there a way to remove an item from the list instead of clearing?

Vitor - I stated what version in the first line of my first post

Thanks
Ok. Didn't see it at first time. You can always install earlier versions of SSMS as won't affect your SQL Server engine.
About the SqlStudio.bin there's more stored information than server names so you'll lose all configurations from your SSMS.

yes - i understand that - thanks.
but am wanting to know if there is a solution to removing one item from a list of servers on ssms 2008.

thanks
As far as I know, a single item, no.
Hi dgrafx,

As per my knowledge you can't remove an single item from the list instead of clearing.

Thanks
I've read that on newer versions (2012 +) simply highlighting the server then hitting the delete key will remove the server
