Working with the Global Address List in Office 365

Is there a way to prevent certain email users from seeing the global address list in Office 365?

I have used Address Book Policies successfully to hide users in one group from users in another group. However, I would like to be able to setup users (students within our school district) such that they can't see anyone in the Global Address List.

Thanks for your input.

You can create an empty GAL view for them, with a 'fake' recipient filter.

Thanks for your feedback Vasil.

Do you have an example for me to follow in this regard?

Just create a new AL that will not return any users, for example criteria:

Department -eq 'NoSuchThing'

And then assign this to a new ABP, which in turn you assign to the students.
