Citrix desktop slow to copy to local drive

Once you logon to the citrix desktop everything works great, If I copy a 47 mb  file from a server on the local network to the desktop it takes about 2 seconds. If I go to computer, select my local hard drive it takes from 35 second - 45 second to copy and I am 20 feet from the servers.

For out side users it takes hours to copy 40 to 50 mb files if they even finish.

If they use remote desktop it takes about 5 minutes for outside users to copy the file.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

studio 7.6.0.5029, vda 7.6.0.5026, receiver 4.2.0.10, netscaler gateway 10.0 build 69.4, StoreFront 2.6, mcs and no hot fixes

Made some timing changes on a few Citrix policies and it seemed to help. Will get user feedback tomorrow.

My guess is that your users are copying the information over ICA.  ICA is not the best protocol to copy files over.  Another possibility could be that users are trying to copy files over the wide area network where links are a lot less smaller when compared to your local area network.  Worst case would be copying over the WAN over ICA protocol as well as having anti-virus software scanning on read and write.
