wireless router

Any suggestions on a really good wireless router for an office that has 2 floors of about 8,000 each.  Need one with good range.  Will be buying 1 for each floor.  Looking for something around $200.

You may need a more expensive Cisco higher end Wi-Fi router / AP for that kind of coverage.

I use Cisco RV220W and RV180W wireless routers which have good coverage and are very reliable. I am not sure if one router will do 8,000 square feet (assuming you meant feet and not meters). That is about 90 feet on a side.

If the space is open then you could get by with a single AP but you would likely have poor performance at the outer edges of the space.  Also, with a space of that size, you need to be careful not to oversubscribe an AP with too many connections.  Most recommendations for wifi density would like to keep less than 30 devices or so per AP.  You can go beyond that but you run the risk of having a poor wifi experience for the users connected to the AP.

Check out Cisco Meraki devices.  They are NOT within the price you are looking for but are great products with nice cloud management and great reporting with seemless transitioning from one AP to another so if you add more down the road it would be pretty seemless for the users.

I say put in a good firewall and buy a some Ubiquity Unifi APs if you have the cable runs already in place.

8000 people or square feet?

If people, Max you would want per ap is about 250.

That said, I would recommend Ruckus APs if you are just looking for a AP.
