.Net project help

My graduation project is about building a platform/software using .Net to create websites that serve crowd fund business. I don't know where to start, what technologies, how the component like live chat or document management be added from the created platforms.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

what experience do you have in .NET do far ?
Please understand we cannot write it for you, but we can point you in the direction of doing your development.
Is there a paper that shows the requirements that you can post ?

I've a good experience with c# (web based). I don't have any documentaed requirements right now. But they are asking to do same idea as http://www.crowdengine.com/
pointing me in the right direction is all what I need to start coding.
Looks like a pretty StaightForward ASP.NEt page with lots of Pre-made Javascript and Jquery.
Looking at the software features page

all these are merely links to other pages. the actual "technology" is not present on those pages
those are nothing more than links with images behind them.
so for instance by clicking on live chat.. there is no live chat that is initialized. its just a link to information about live chat that they provide.

I think since there are no hard coded "requirements" yet for this project, you are making it harder in your mind than it really is going to Be.

this looks like Web design 301
I would recommend using ASP.NET C# if you are already familiar.
Look at the AJAX extension pack (its free)
And google the JQuery & CSS Libraries from the source of the home page for ideas on how you want hte look and feel of your site to be.

I would imagine that there will be some mailing requirements or a contact us page, but those are easy to make in Visual Studio ( one is pre-made in ASP.NET)  Along with that a Database to hold names and information entered which if you have sql 101 background will take you very little time to make.

heres a fun set of videos you will enjoy as well

it should give you some great ideas :)

I am thinking that you should decide all of the functionality that you will support and build your data layer first, in MariaDB, MySQL or SQL Server (or possibly other choices). You can use the first one for free.  Anyhow, I'd flesh out the DB to store the required data that you will support in normalized manner, and then start building the ASP.NET pages to allow use of it. Most likely you will need a registration page to create logins, etc. You could make an "I forgot my password" reset page. You could add in Paypal or some other payment mechanism for donations. Or you could be your own merchant.  (for a fee). You will need pages for the client to create idea, etc.  And a place for people to find and then fund it.  You can take it as far as you wish to go.  You could choose to implement a lot of functionality on the backend in store procedures and then just pass the appropriate args to them Or you could just use queries in DataSets, etc.  With those you could use bound controls to save time.
