What is the link to the vmware software to manage my vmware from my workstation (laptop)

I feel a bit silly however I was in a situation where my workstation was managed for me.   From my laptop I could get into the the VMWare stack and manage it.  I need that functionality on our older vmware stack.

Where do I download and install what I need on my windows laptop in order to manage my vmware infrastructure ?

I have administrated vmware at my old place for years, just could not find the client software at vmware.com

Oh, i am on Windows 8 ...

thx

if you are referring to the vsphere client, you can access it from the esx server by going to https://servername and the download link is there for that version

You are referring to the VMware vSphere Client, and the version you download needs to match the version you are using.

e.g. 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0.

If you download a version, and try connecting, it will tell you, if you have the wrong version.

Part 2: HOW TO: Connect to the VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5.1 (ESXi 5.1) using the vSphere Client
