Open the text message application on your device.
Press the "Start" key, select "Messaging" and click "Text Messages."
Click on the message that you would like to forward to your email address.
Press "Menu" and "Forward." Enter your email address in the "To" field. Press "Send" to forward the text message to your email address.

The text messages are stored on the internal flash card or SIM card and cannot be copied as you would copy photos, movies, etc.
You will need a third party software such as Coolmuster Android Assistant or Vibosoft LG Message Manager
Both are free to try & around $35 to buy

You can dowload Android Assistant from this link:

Further reading and guides to use Android Assistant from this link:

You can dowload Vibosoft LG Message Manager from this link:
http://www.android-mobile-manager.com/resources/transfer-text-messages-from-lg-to-computer.html
Install the software then connect your LG phone to the computer via USB cable, and follow the interface of the program.

Cannot find a free version but $20 is reasonable.
