Server 2012 Windows Update Issues

Hi Guys

I have a clients server that has over 100 updates waiting to be installed on it but keeps coming up with errors. The codes alternate between 800F0922 and 80071a91

The server is Windows Server 2012 STD and is a DC, DNS and FP. The server is a VM running on hyper-v cluster environment (all other servers have no issues)

I have tried the below so far with no success:

1. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth - rebooted same issue
2. Stop updates service, deleted software distribution folder - rebooted same issue
3. Selecting only 1 update - same error
4. Downloading the update and install manually - same error
5. MS Windows Update repair fixit tool - rebooted and same error

Any other ideas?

Cheers

Adam

i found the below command on another Forum

fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\

After running this updates appear to install (no errors anyway)

Just need to restart the server tonight to complete

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

Have you tried installing the Windows update using the server shutdown option (namely shutdown and install updates)?
