C# web services http-post request

I have written a simple web services to return some sql data.

I can access it using the following url

http://localhost/webservice.asmx then from there it shows me my operations/methods. I then click the "GetBorrowers" where I input my string and then post and get my result.

I have tried everything online to have my c# winform client do a http-post response to pull the data but to no avail.

I am searching with the string '160816'

I have read this and have had no luck with it -

I end up getting in 404 error or 500 timeout.

What I am expecting is the XML result to come to me in my textbox for starts then from there I would parse out the xml.

any examples would be great as I am pulling my hair out on this one.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
