Dell Poweredge VRTX root password just stopped working

I have been working on a new Dell VRTX- changed root password on initial setup and it has been working fine for about 2 weeks. Server timed out of Friday and when I tried to log back in it says the log in will not work.  Both server blades- the switch everything else works with no problem.  (root password changed on all the devices to the same root password)

Any ideas how this could have happened or more importantly- anyway to fix this without doing a factory reset?

Dell Support will have the method, if there is one, to reset the password. If there is a serial port on the management module that's going to be the method to access.

There may be a pre-boot command line that allows for the needed change.

I suggest Dell support.

Not having much luck- cant access via serial port

There is a jumper setting on the controller card forcing back to default password- Dell support did not even know this- I found it and was able to reset
