MX records and changing a mail server
We send and receive email from around the world.
We are in the process of changing our MX records however..... I am not positive when ( some time in the next month ).
I know a little about changing the time to live for mx records and am not sure I want to go from 24 hours to one second in just one step. I am looking for an logical TTL that will keep us running in mail around the world but is not a 24 our setting. It would be a setting that some people run on a daily basis.
My top candidates for time to live are 2 hours, or 1 hour.
How would you step the time down ?
24 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour, 1 second ?
24 hours, 1 second ?
We are running Gmail

I researched this also with other "pros" we have at our disposal. This is a great answer " A three step " change is what I am going to do.
