copy text files from folder to a single text file

Hi experts,

I need to copy multiple text files, maybe in 100s from a folder to a single text file in dos or any so that I can do some data analysis. I would like to know if it(text files in a folder) can be pulled to a single excel file as well. Looking for simpler solutions. I know it can be done using etl tool such as ssis etc but I am not allowed to used it or dont have access to it .

Thanks in advance.

Assuming all the individual files are name w/ a .txt extension

Open a CMD prompt.
Type these 2 lines:

echo.>big.csv
for %a in (*.txt) do copy /y big.csv+"%a" big.csv

big.csv can be read by Excel.

Better create the file with  copy nul big.csv  instead of the echo.
