Purge folder retention when litigation hold is removed

Can't seem to find an answer on this anywhere.

I place a mailbox on litigation hold indefinitely, a user hard deletes an item and it goes into the deletions folder and then into the purge folder where it is retained. 91 days pass and then I take the mailbox off litigation hold. What happens to the item in the purged folder.

Immediately permanently removed? Kept for 14 days until it is permanently removed?

When a mailbox is put on a litigation hold and then items are then deleted from the Recover Deleted Items folder they are moved to the Purges folder. The Mailbox Assistant does not purge items in this folder.

So when you remove the hold the items in the purges folder are there until you manually remove them. Take a look at the below TechNet for additional Details.

Reference the Purges Folder in the link below.

I don't think that's correct. Thanks for the link, and this is what I found on that page:

After a mailbox user is removed from In-Place Hold or Litigation Hold, items in the DiscoveryHold, Purges, and Versions folders are purged by the Managed Folder Assistant.
