like NTLM or Kerberos. can suggest why one can't use NTLM or Kerberos.?

NTLM has been used all the way back until the NT 4.0 days and has been backward compatible with current systems. Kerberos also being a around for awhile was introduced in Win2K and has much more benefits over NTLM. Take a look at the following link which outlines NTLM vs Kerberos in more detail.
