Is there a way to restore 7 years old Backupexec tapes? We don't use Backupexec anymore

Hi,
We switched to DPM Server around 2008 and we were using Backupexec before then.
We need to restore some server files and Exchange 2007 database in those old Backupexec tapes.
Our current DPM 2012 R2 doesn't recognize the tapes, they show as "Unrecognized".

Anyone knows a way to restore them? Perhaps using a 3rd party software?

Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately we don't have the BE install files or the license (which is I'm sure expired by now).

Why keep tapes that have been written to using a product you don't have the installation media anymore? Besides that, BE licenses, like most other normal licenses, don't expire. It might just not be valid for a new version. Licenses that expire would be the new types of licenses where you hire it for a year, or if it is a trial.

You should be able to get a trial license of BE if you can't find the installation media.

You were right. I was able to install the latest version of BE and restore the data using it as trial license. I'm having a different issue with restoring Exchange database, I'll ask that in a new question.

Thanks.
