jQuery Function not working

I have a function that works if a field has a specific state name in it.
My field:
<input type="hidden" value="IL" name="item_options[0][location_state]">

My Script:
	var illinois_hide = $('[name*="[location_state]"]').val();
	if( illinois_hide === "IL") {
		$('#bike_type').children('option[value="Electric / Pedal Assist"]').css('display','none');
	};

Open in new window

it works if the field is:
<input type="hidden" value="IL" name="item_options[location_state]">

But not if it is:
<input type="hidden" value="IL" name="item_options[0][location_state]">
Or
<input type="hidden" value="IL" name="item_options[1][location_state]">... so on
