vCenter 5.1 Storage vMotion Physical RDM

I understand how the VMDK file in a physical RDM is only a pointer to a LUN. My question is we have to move the LUN the VM is connect to  another SAN. The VM can already see the new destination. What is the best way to move or update the RDM file? Should we use Storage vMotion or update it manaully

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We are in favour of using the technology and licenses that were purchased, and use Storage vMotion, less can go wrong, with manually updating files.

DO you have an article that I could reference ... One of my college like to reference documents instead of what people tell him
