Remotely controlling grandma's computer

My mother needs PC computer help installing something. Is there a free service that would let me control
her PC from afar? I know that Chrome has a remote control feature - but I'm not sure I could walk her through
adding an add-in. Something easy out there??

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can install vnc on destination computer and add any free dns service to get IP address (if it not static). To finish, only need to route on router nat to redirect traffic to computer.

Other way maybe using any software like teamviewer, this let you connect to destination computer without extra software (from a web browser) and not requires dns service (INMO better solution than first).

Team Viewer

Even better - Team Viewer! Great. I know she'll have issue in the future. So it's nice if I don't have the remote viewer die out. Although another avenue I suppose is I could install the chrome remote view add-in while using LogMeIn or the other. But if team view's a champ maybe just stick with that. Thank you!

I use GoToAssist for multiple computers ($).
I use UltraVNC for intra-LAN connections - although it's more convenient to use GoToAssist.  Sometimes I use UltraVNC (if it's set up) to install GoToAssist - so the idea should work with different remote connection types.
Windows Remote Desktop seems a bit limiting in what sorts of things you can/cannot do when remote.
I didn't even know about the Chrome Remote Desktop!  :-)
