Windows 2008 Domain Creation

Hello Experts,

I'm real novice when it comes to Windows Server,

Can someone please show me how to create a domain?

I'm running Windows 2008 Standard.

Cheers

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Well, you better refer the following links. Make sure to update your windows.

and the MS link;

Do a test lab and learn things. You should read /study a lot about, DNS, Active Directory management/trouble shooting, Group policies etc.. Referring a good book or getting trained are the best options too.

Hello Guys,

I followed your instructions and everything appears to going ok. However, I can no longer RDP into the server.

Remote Desktop is enabled as you can see, but RDP wont work.

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

Zac,

The firewall is completely disabled.

David, I changed the port to 3393.

The thing is, I could RDP to the server before taking your suggestions
