how to enable dfs service on a windows 2008 server R2

Our file server is suffering from the disk controller's problem. I would like to enable DFS service and add one more server to DFS cluster.

Anyone can provide me some articles and suggestions?

The file server is a windows server 2008 R2 box.

thanks.

If i am not mistaken are you just trying to add the DFS role on another server? Take a look at the TechNet below which illustrates exactly how to accomplish this.

When i set up anther dfs server, is it possible only replicate files from the past two years to the new server instead of replicating all the files.

The shared folders on the old file server has over 20 TB files for the past 7 years. we want to shrink the size and only keep 2 years data on the new file server.

thanks.

You might be able to do this using a date range from the Exclude directory.
