Fileupload control do not show the complete path in google chrome

Hi Experts,

I have file upload control in my program. When I select a path, google chrome does not show the complete path. It shows only the file name. How can I get  the complete path. I am using vb.net and asp.net.

Thank you

Standard file uploads do not send the path to the server even if it shows in other browsers.  They only send the filename.

Thank you for your reply.

What can I do to get the file path so that I can read the file and save it into the database in binary format.

You can't get the path and if it is a POST file upload script, you don't need it because the file is available on the server at that point.  Here is a Microsoft page on uploading files:  https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa478971.aspx   Try the example on that page.  It appears to be complete.

As mentioned above, the client path is never revealed in all current browsers. It will never appear (it was in older IE versions), as this is seen as a security measure.
