RPC over HTTP (SBS 2011) keeps prompting for credentials and never connects.

We are running an SBS 2011 server.

I have a user who access email via an Outlook RPC over HTTP connection.

Recently, following a server reboot, this user is no longer able to connect to the mail server.  Outlook constantly prompts for credentials. I've tried recreating the profile on an alternate PC with same results.

All Exchange services are running.  No further changes have been made.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Authentication prompts are not always an authentication issue.
However confirm the user can connect to OWA correctly.

The prompts could be coming from Autodiscover, so do an Autodiscover test in Outlook and ensure the response is coming from your server and not your web host.

Do you have a trusted SSL certificate on the server?
If not you should do. If you do, ensure it is still valid.

Thanks Simon - looks like somethings just did not start up properly.  I rebooted again after disabling serveral services (and manually started them up again later).

All working fine now.
