primary and backup wan

I am new to Riverbed Steelhead devices, and have a very simple question. Our site has two WAN routers primary & Backup. Do we need two riverbed steelhead devices, or just one? Please let me know.

Unfamiliar with the riverbed appliance. What is it you are looking to do?
Are you looking to balance access from the Lan to the outside, or do you also have internal resources that are externally accessible?

If riverbed includes more than three interfaces two to be external and one feeding the lan, routing can be setup to ........ As long as one wan is up, the users on the LAN will not know the difference.

The peering/routing on each wan device .......

We are looking for WAN acceleration out to WAN network from Cisco routers. As you know the steelhead devices go betwteen Router and site switch. We have two site routers connecting to primary and backup switches. So, do we need two different Riverbed devices??

You can, but then it becomes redundant where if the first wan facing fails, ...

Instead of me trying to guess what you are considering based on your questions and information, would you kindly  detail what you are considering, what your concerns requirements for the setup are?

Are you looking to have sequential such that one set of VLAns will be fed by the first whole another group will be fed by the other in an effort to separate while ...........
