PMP Certification

I am looking into becoming PMP Certified.  I was examining the following website:

http://www.pmi.org/en/Certification/~/media/PDF/Certifications/pdc_pmphandbook.ashx

It says that in addition to the basic education and experience requirement, the applicant have 35 hours of course work from an accredited institution.

How can I find an institution that will provide the 35 hours of education.  Would this be offered by a Community College, online institution, or hopefully a dedicated school in my area.  How could I locate such an institution?

Is the PMP Certification useful for finding employment (I have worked at the same company for many years and do not know what the market demands)?

Is thee any other advise you might give on this issue?

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There is no guarantee that having a PMP Certification will help your career however it certainly won't hurt.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider CompTIA Project+ certification, which is a similar certification but without the 35 hour education requirement.
