I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

On the windows 2003 Server

run gpedit.msc

expand till you get to the domain level

then you will see default domain policy

right click on the domain and then select Create and Link GPO here

give it a name you prefer

after you create the GPO  then you can edit it in there will be the setting for IE default home page.

when completed making your changes right click on the newly created gpo and select  link enable

Then from command prompt run gpupdate /force

from a workstation you can do the same run gpupdate /force

this will update the policies faster.

If you need to exclude a computer or user you can use WMI filters

Can explain more of wmi filters after you get your policy working

hope this helps

If you don't want the user to be able to change the home page look for the option to "disable changing home page" and set it to "enabled". This will gray out the option for the user.
