VPN connection opens RDP session

all servers 2008 r2.  I have configured the routing and remote access services role on a server(DOMAIN A) in a domain that also includes a RDP server.  To test, I remotely(because of firewall issues at current computer) accessed a windows 7 computer(WORKGROUP A)  and created a VPN connection to DOMAIN A.  It must have worked because now, everytime I go to remote into the windows 7 computer(WORKGROUP A) I get the RDP server desktop of DOMAIN A(router of DOMAIN A forwards 3389 to RDP server and 1723 to RRAS server).  My question, is it because I created a vpn connection while in a RDS session, when I try to remote into Win 7(WORKGROUP A) that I get the RDS server desktop of DOMAIN A?  How do I disconnect the session in DOMAIN A so I can remote into WORKGROUP A?  Can a VPN server co-exist with a RDP server?

Thank you,
