questions about copying an Exchange OUTLOOK calender 2007 in active directory

We had a shared mailbox that was constantly locking itself out in active directory. We could not find the root cause so we just renamed the account and created a new one along with an new mailbox. I exported the old email and calendar into a PST and copied it into the new version of the mailbox. Now all the calendar entries have the word "copy" in front of them and I have wondering if any calendar changes made to new account will reflect back to the old invites from the old account. Was there a better way to replace an active directory account??

A shared mailbox shouldn't be locking itself out, because by definition a shared mailbox should have its underlying AD account disabled.

If you recreated the mailbox then you need to add an X.500 address to the account for it to take on the personality of the old mailbox.
