Webmin issue when trying to connect to ubuntu via samba
Hi,
I'm trying to access an ubuntu server through samba by following the link:
http://linuxhomeserverguide.com/server-config/Samba.php
I've set up two shares through webmin and when I click on the server in windows explorer, I'm able to see both shares, so some bit of webmin is working.
When I try and double click on one of the shares, I have to enter network credentials but I get access denied after this.
The user I try to login with is JohnDoe in ubuntu he is in the following groups:
anthony@Server-Main:/etc/i nit.d$ groups JohnDoe
JohnDoe : users lp
anthony@Server-Main:/etc/i nit.d$
He does exist in webmin too.
Actually I've just created a usergroup on webmin called sambashare (from the link's instructions, it doesn't say anything about creating groups) and I've added JohnDoe to this group but still no joy when I try and connect to the share, Anybody any ideas why this isn't connecting?
