File import with no column names

Hi,

I would like to import a file into a Database table. The file has no column headers and 160 columns. The columns will remain in the same position in the file. Currently, I am doing this by manually mapping the columns using the Import process in SQL. As this is going to be a regular requirement, is there a way to automate this process?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

I believe the best way is to use SSIS for that. Everything is configured once, and you can run whenever you want.

Which edition of SQL Server are you using? If isn't an Express Edition in the last step of the Import Wizard instead of press run you can press save the package so you can create a SQL Server job to run the package in a scheduled way.
