FIx print spooler stopping issue Windows 8.1

I think I have a bad print driver that is causing my print spooler service to stop. The only error I see is in my event log saying the service stops. I can't seem to remove the printer director from CP/Device and Printers. Since service stops, print management doesn"t show anything. I tried going through registry and deleting printers I see but no joy. I changed settings to autotrys to restart service and service starts but always stops eventually.

One of the printers in my CP shows driver unknown and I did not see a registry entry for it so suspect that is the one I need to figure out how to remove. MS Mr. Fixit does not seem to work for 8.1. Other automated utilities do not seem to work.

I do have 2 HP printers but suspect issue is with Xerox Copier driver.

I deleted registry entries yesterday and attempted service restart and failed. I rebooted the machine and it was working but my steps were essentially the ones identified in the link so am awarding you the points.
