Cisco Nexus 5672 UP

In Cisco Nexus 5672 UP i got the below specifications.

10 GE       48 ports
40 GE       6 true QSFP ports
Unified ports       16 ports (Ethernet; FCoE; 2/4/8-gigabit FC)

I understand about 48 ports for 10GE.
Regarding 40 GE 6 true QSFP ports & Unified port would like to know what exactly they are.
What is the purpose of these. Will they be used for Fiber Connectivity or Ethernet connectivity.
Will it be used for storage connectivity or for other purpose

Don JohnstonInstructorCommented:
The 48 fixed ports can run at 1gbp/s.
Don JohnstonInstructorCommented:
The 40g ports can be either 40g Ethernet or four 10g ethernet ports.

Unified Ports can be Ethernet or Fiber Chanel.

I don't think the single 40g port converts to 4 10g ports, but I could be wrong (they are QSFP ports, which implies a 1:1 ratio of port to port type).

Going by this, you could have 6 40g ports or 6 10g ports or a mixture.

Edit: Looked at the datasheet, the breakout cable lets you convert to 4 copper, didn't know this.

For 10Gbps port I have the 10Gbps SFP module. Can i use this port with speed of 1 Gbps.
