Options for file associations to run portable apps on W764

Been starting to uninstall windows apps in favor of portable versions.

Looking for options to define file associations for portable apps so I can double-click a file in explorer and the portable app will launch.

Saw eXpresso; wondering about other options and any thoughts/feedback as I go down this path towards portable apps instead of installing.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What are you looking for, please? Simply right click a file, select open with, check the box that instructs the system to remember the choice and select the path to your portable exe.
If you are trying to deploy these settings in a domain, this would be your link: http://www.alexheer.co.uk/it-blog/setting-default-file-associations-using-group-policy-preferences
