Windows 8.1 loses connection to network shares?

Hello all,

We have a strange issue which is happening to machines running Windows 8.1. All other machines running Windows 7 are not affected by this. Occasionally during the day as users work they will get the attached error (see screenshot). The network shares will then appear disconnected, then they refresh the page (F5) and reconnect... any ideas what might be causing this?

Many Thanks,

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I found this that might help

Seems the network adapter may be the issue here

Are all the Windows 8.1 computers the same model?  Desktop or Laptop?

In addition to the above, see if you can find a newer network driver, uninstall the old one and install the new driver.

If wireless, turn off all power saving settings.

When done, do a TCP/IP reset and DNS Flush. Restart and test.
